10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) song needs to be corrected and rewritten.

Before I say what needs to be corrected in the song, I want you to listen to the song along with lyrics. Play the above official video and listen to it. Here are the lyrics below:

---------
Bless the Lord oh my soul (Here soul is the second person and God is the third person.)
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name (Obviously we all know that God is the third person here.)
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name (Why are we worshipping the Holy name of the second person?)

The sun comes up
It's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again (Who is the second person here?)
Whatever may pass
And whatever lies before me
Let me be singing
When the evening comes

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name (Who is the third person?)
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name (Why are we worshipping the Holy name of the second person?)

You're rich in love
And You're slow to anger (Who is the second person here?)
Your name is great
And Your heart is kind (Who is the second person here?)
For all Your goodness (Who is the second person here?)
I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons
For my heart to find

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name (Who is the third person?)
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name (Why are we worshipping the Holy name of the second person?)

And on that day
When my strength is failing
The end draws near
And my time has come
Still my soul will
Sing Your praise unending (Who is the second person here?)
Ten thousand years
And then forevermore
Forevermore

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name (Who is the third person?)
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name (Why are we worshipping the Holy name of the second person?)

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name (Who is the third person?)
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship Your Holy name (Why are we worshipping the Holy name of the second person?)
Yes I'll worship Your Holy name
Lord, I'll worship Your Holy name (This is the only place where God is addressed as the second person)

Songwriters: Jonas Myrin, Matt Redman
------------

In this song, Jonas Myrin and Matt Red man have kept God as the third person and soul as the second person. Throughout the song, they've been saying, "I'll worship Your Holy name" to the second person, which is the soul. This is not accepted.

This has to be corrected by changing as follows:

------------
Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship His Holy name (or ) Lord, I'll worship Your Holy name

The sun comes up
It's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass
And whatever lies before me
Let me be singing
When the evening comes

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship His Holy name (or ) Lord, I'll worship Your Holy name

You're rich in love
And You're slow to anger
Your name is great
And Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness
I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons
For my heart to find

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship His Holy name (or ) Lord, I'll worship Your Holy name

And on that day
When my strength is failing
The end draws near
And my time has come
Still my soul will
Sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years
And then forevermore
Forevermore

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship His Holy name (or ) Lord, I'll worship Your Holy name

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I'll worship His Holy name
Yes I'll worship His Holy name
Lord, I'll worship Your Holy name (This is the only place where God is addressed as the second person This can be left as it is.)
----------------

I left the stanzas unchnaged but only the chorus, because in the stanza's it's the second person is not mentioned so we can give that praise to anyone in our heart. But in the stanzas as the second person is clearly mentioned, it's important to keep it crystal clear, so that knowing or unknowing the praise wouldn't go to our soul.

May God bless our fellowship and make it a blessing to many.
Please pray for me and also feel free to share your comments about this post.

Praise be to God!

Crime Vs Sin

While living in this world, we always live under two authorities: ·          Spiritual government o    God is the creator of the universe and he ordained a set of rules for our life. When we violate those rules we commit sin. Basically any disobedience to God command is sin . ·          Worldly government o    Society in the world is divided into many states and each state has it’s own constitution and penal code for it’s citizens. Any violation of that penal code is a crime . Below are the few differences between crime and sin. CRIME SIN Local – defined only for the people of a state Global – defined for all humanity Courts can judge Courts cannot judge Punishment is temporary Punishment is forever Crime is not always sin Sin is not always crime It takes place only when you do it It takes place even when you intend to do it
